New 🌟
Today we're very happy to introduce Nucleus Messages with the Email Campaign System.
With this powerful new feature (currently part of Nucleus People), your church gets access to unlimited email audiences (subscribers), campaigns, and email sending -- all done natively through Nucleus. No 3rd party tools required!
Use Nucleus Messages to easily:
- ✅ Build a subscriber list of those who signed up for an event through a Flow and, schedule out emails to them leading up to the day of the event
- ✅ Send your Pastor's "prepare for Sunday" type emails to the congregation
- ✅ Email your kids ministry leaders the schedule for this month
- ✅ Deliver a weekly budget email to church Members
- ✅ Send a thank you note to everyone who gave to support a missionary, and then send them updates on that effort!
- ✅ Remind everyone about the church potluck next week
- ✅ As a leader, equip and encourage your small group
…and so much more!
More specifically, the first version of Nucleus Messages allows you to:
- Create Unlimited Email Campaigns for your church
- Create Manual, Fixed, or Dynamic Audiences (No subscriber count limits)
- Automatically send a custom Welcome Email to new subscribers when they join your subscriber list (per-campaign!)
- Create, Send & Schedule Unlimited Emails to your people (No sending limits)
- Customize the Sender name and reply-to email globally for Nucleus Messages, per campaign, and even per-message.
1. Create Unlimited Email Campaigns
It's easy to create a new email campaign. Just hit the "Add New" button, and name your campaign (keep in mind people might see this name when they manage their subscription).
2. Create Manual, Fixed, or Dynamic Audiences (No subscriber count limits)
From there, you'll first be taken to set up your audience for the campaign. This is where you'll define what kind of audience (think subscriber list) you need to create.
- For a standard list you're going to bring in from another list you have, (or you're only going to add a few specific people) choose "Manual"
- If you'd like to create your subscriber list based on an existing People List, those who've completed a specific Flow, or those who've given to a specific Fund, choose "Fixed"
- If you're going to create a subscriber list you want to to automatically build from those who fill out a Flow, or keep it in sync with a People list, you'll want to choose "Dynamic"
No matter which Audience type you select, you'll always be able to add subscribers manually (individually or in bulk!). Just keep in mind if you manually augment a Dynamic subscriber list, your additions of names and emails don't change the source list (e.g. Giving Fund, Flow, or People List).
3. Automatically send a custom Welcome Email
Once you have your audience created, you can choose if you want to enable the Welcome Email for the campaign. This automated message works with any audience type (Manual, Fixed, or Dynamic), and if enabled and your Campaign is active, will send to all new subscribers, within the first 5 minutes of them joining your campaign's audience. This applies even if you add someone manually! :)
NOTE: The Welcome Email will only begin sending if you've enabled it, and once you "Start Campaign" using the big purple button in the top right corner of any Campaign page in your dashboard. This gives you control over building your initial audience first, then turning on everything to begin sending. Also keep in mind, if you pause your campaign after it's been started, it pauses any email sending, including this welcome email.
4. Create, Send & Schedule Unlimited Emails
Once your Campaign is created, Audience is initially setup, and Welcome Message configured, if you haven't already, you can "Start Campaign" using the big purple square button in the top right corner of the campaign dashboard. This will start the welcome email sending, and also enable you to immediately send any other emails you write.
If you're not ready to start the campaign yet, you can do that at any time. Just keep in mind you won't be able to send any emails until you do.
Either way, time to create some emails! A few things to keep in mind:
- You can create, send, and schedule as many emails as you need for a campaign.
- Every subscriber in your campaign's audience will be sent any email you create inside of a campaign.
- You can customize the sender name and reply-to email per email you create. This helps make sure people recognize and read emails. So instead of just your church name, you could put something like "Pastor Steve from Hope Church" and set the reply-to email to go to whoever should respond to people's replies. Maybe that's Pastor Steve, or if your church is larger, perhaps it's the front desk administrator. The great thing is, with this setup it gives you great flexibility.
- Nucleus Messages initially uses a personal style email for the best performance (studies have shown more people see, view, and read messages that look like they were sent by a real person and aren't highly designed). Learn more about this here.
- Emails you send automatically adjust to light and dark mode on many supported devices, to make it feel even more personal.
To create an email, just go to the Emails tab on the campaign, then hit the "Add New" button on the panel that loads. Similar to a campaign, you'll simply name the email, and save that, then immediately you'll be taken in to start editing the new email.
- Customize the Sender + Reply to email if you like, write your subject line, then start writing your email. You can choose some essential styling like a personal email, and even add images/gifs
- Want to check how your email looks as you're working on it? You can always send yourself a test email in a single click! Just look for the "Send me a test email" button right above where you write your email.
- When you're done, you can choose the Schedule for your email (so long as your audience is setup) or you can choose to send immediately (if you have an audience and your campaign active e.g. has been "Started" and isn't paused).
PLEASE NOTE: You must have a currently paid subscription to Nucleus People to start campaigns and begin sending emails (other than test emails to yourself). If you need to add this to your Nucleus 2 subscription, let us know!
That's it for today!
We hope you enjoy this major upgrade to Nucleus People with the arrival of Nucleus Messages. We've got more planned for this new product over the rest of the year, and will be listening closely for your feedback and thoughts as you get started checking it out.
